Zumtobel, Visplay and Gerriets present concepts that optimise lighting, spatial zoning and furnishings to create dedicated work areas that can be flexibly reconfigured

How can workplaces be designed to inspire people, support different ways of working and remain attractive in the long term? Zumtobel, Visplay and Gerriets will provide answers to this question at ORGATEC 2026 in Cologne. Under the theme “Make Space Smart”, the partners will be showcasing concepts in Hall 8, Booth D-019, from 27 to 30 October, which optimise lighting, spatial layout and furnishings to create and flexibly reconfigure dedicated areas for focused work, creative collaboration, informal exchange or quiet spaces. In line with this approach, Zumtobel will present its new lighting solution LERIMA. Combining architectural clarity, high visual comfort and future-ready technology, LERIMA is designed for modern work and learning environments. The innovative ECLIPSE optics reduce shadowing for exceptionally uniform illumination and minimise luminance hotspots by diffusing the light source. The result is softer lighting and improved visual perception, especially during focused work.
Whilst Gerriets develops textile spatial and acoustic solutions that enable workspaces to be flexibly zoned, acoustically optimised and adapted to different usage requirements, Visplay’s modular furnishing systems allow for the flexible use and reconfiguration of spaces. Zumtobel complements these approaches with lighting solutions that provide orientation, create atmosphere and ensure optimal visual conditions for different activities. This results in working environments that inspire people to work in the office, boost productivity, reflect the corporate culture and offer scope for future developments.
Depending on their use, workspaces place different demands on lighting, spatial design and infrastructure. Design, product life cycle and infrastructure are therefore coming to the fore as key areas of focus. Under the theme “Exceeding Expectations”, Zumtobel will demonstrate, through the product families PANOS III, SOLENA, TALUNA, CIELUMA move and VIVO II, how lighting solutions can be tailored to different spatial contexts and user needs, and the role that outstanding design plays in this process.
Furthermore, visitors will learn how existing lighting installations can be utilised in the long term and investments safeguarded through resource-efficient modernisation. Zumtobel makes this possible with its standardised remanufacturing service, which extends the service life of lighting systems for at least two product life cycles. After the first product life cycle, the luminaires are dismantled, individual components are tested, cleaned, repaired or replaced, and the system is restored to an as-new condition. Key electronic components such as drivers and LED modules are upgraded. Depending on the product, software updates may also be part of the process.
The joint stand brings to life how different sections of a building can be tailored to the needs of their users whilst remaining part of a coherent overall concept. Through specific application examples, visitors can experience how lighting, acoustics, interior design and furnishings work together.
